Browsers and operating systems have separate settings for notifications. If you have enabled browser notifications for the agent dashboard but are not receiving them when expected, here's what to check.
Your browser needs to be configured to allow notifications in general and for app.mavenoid.com
in specific.
If you use the agent dashboard embedded in another help desk such as Zendesk or Salesforce and are adding Mavenoid to the list of sites that can send notifications, make sure to also add the help desk site.
Here are browser-specific articles for checking these settings on all our supported browsers.
Your team may have an additional audio chime configured to play along with or instead of browser notifications. The permissions for this are controlled separately. You can either configure your browser to allow all sites to play audio, or specifically add Mavenoid as a site that is allowed to play audio.
If you use the agent dashboard embedded in another help desk such as Zendesk or Salesforce and are adding Mavenoid to the list of sites that can play audio, make sure to also add the help desk site.
Here are browser-specific URLs for where these permissions can be configured on all our supported browsers. For security reasons, you'll need to copy/paste these URLs into the browser instead of clicking on them.
Google Chrome: chrome://settings/content/sound
Microsoft Edge: edge://settings/content/mediaAutoplay
Firefox: about:preferences#privacy
(scroll down to the Permissions section, find the Autoplay row, and click "Settings...")
Opera: opera://settings/content/sound
Many browsers have a memory-saving feature that will automatically unload browser tabs in the background. If this happens to the agent dashboard tab, you will be automatically set unavailable and will stop receiving notifications.
In all supported browsers, you can disable this feature entirely. In Chrome and Edge, you can also add Mavenoid to a list of excluded sites that will never be automatically unloaded. Firefox should already recognize that the dashboard should not be automatically unloaded.

If Google Chrome does not show the "Performance" section in Settings, you can enable it by visiting
chrome://flags/#high-efficiency-mode-available
, setting the "Enable the high efficiency mode feature in the settings" dropdown to "Enabled", and clicking "Relaunch".
Your OS needs to be configured to allow notifications in general and for your browser in specific.
Here are OS-specific articles for checking notification settings.
Both Windows and Mac provide "Focus" or "Do Not Disturb" features that prevent notifications from triggering during certain times. You'll need to ensure that these features are not currently active.
Here are OS-specific articles for checking "Focus" settings.
If you are using multiple screens or displays, make sure to check all of them. Notifications may be going to a different display than the one with the agent dashboard.
If you are receiving notifications but missing them because they disappear before you can react to them, in some operating systems you can configure them to be more persistent.
In Mac OS, you can customize the notifications to be "Alerts" instead of "Banners". If you do so, they will persist until you dismiss them.
To confirm that your browser and OS are configured to allow notifications, you can trigger test notifications using a resource like one of the below. (These are third-party resources not maintained by Mavenoid.)
Browser Notification Tester, which also has some quick tips for what to check if the notification does not display.
HTML5 Web Notifications Test, which lets you send a delayed notification so that you can confirm behavior when the browser tab or window is not active.
If you are able to receive notifications from one of these sites, then your browser and OS are correctly configured to display notifications in general. You'll still need to confirm that your browser is configured to display notifications from app.mavenoid.com
with the Agent Dashboard.
