🔨 Tutorial- Generating Articles

Articles (AKA. Assistant webpages) makes your content indexable and therefore findable in search engines such as google, bing etc.

Assistant webpages are generated at a node level (symptom, message and question nodes) and made available at the page node level i.e. Homepage or Child Page.

This means that content can be re-used (where relevant) across multiple sites and/or pages without the need to duplicate efforts.

An example of a homepage is help.mavenoid.com.
An example of a child page is help.mavenoid.com/dynamic-help-center

1

Generating at a node level

On each symptom, message or question node, you will find the checkbox ‘Generate Assistant Webpage’.

When checked, a pathname is automatically generated. The pathname is editable, however it is recommended to make any changes before publishing, especially if your custom domain has already been connected. .

2

Generating in bulk

In order to generate assistant webpages in bulk, go to the advanced search in your flow -> Filter by ‘Has Indexed webpage’ -> No.

Here you will find all of the nodes that do not currently have an assistant webpage generated.

Select the nodes you want to create Assistant Webpages for -> Right click on the canvas -> Select edit -> Check Generate Assistant Webpage.

A pathname for all the nodes will be automatically generated in the same way as if you were to manually check the ‘Generate Assistant Webpage’ from the node itself.

3

Associate with child page

In order for the content to be published as an Indexed Page, you must associate the Assistant Webpage Pages with a Page Node within the same flow. This tells the Assistant Webpage which URL to live under.

To do so, simply head over to the Page Node -> Check ‘Auto-generate indexed pages for symptoms and messages in this flow’. This scans the flow for all nodes, including nodes inside components, where Generate Assistant Webpage have been checked.

Icons indicate Symptom/Question/Message nodes associated with pages, including the number sites.

Note: If you have several Page Nodes in the same flow and each is set to 'Auto-generate indexed pages for symptoms and messages in this flow,' then the Assistant Webpages will be created for all these pages that have this option selected.

Note: If you have Page Nodes in different flows, and each node is configured with the 'Auto-generate indexed pages for symptoms and messages in this flow' setting AND these nodes are linked to a common component, then all nodes within that component that are set to 'Generate Assistant Webpage' will indeed generate an Assistant Webpage. This will apply to all pages where this option is selected.

4

Preview changes and hit publish

To preview the assistant webpage, select the node -> preview icon.

When the preview panel is shown, you will see the Page association icon on the bottom row. Select the icon.

If you have multiple pages or sites associated, you will be prompted to select the page in which you want to preview.

You will then be taken to a preview link where you can preview the assistant webpage in desktop, mobile or tablet layout.

Upon publish, the Assistant Webpage will be associated with the child page(s).
