Work with notifications
Mavenoid makes use of notifications to improve collaboration between users and help ensure they never miss a task.
Configure notifications
From the Settings menu, select Notifications under My Account to specify how and when you'd like to receive notifications.
By default, all notifications are disabled. You can toggle notifications individually for each notification type in each channel.
Notification send rules
To help ensure notifications remain useful and not overwhelming, we set the following rules:
- If you read a notification in the app or click on a browser notification, you won't also receive the same notification via email.
- You won't be notified for changes you made yourself.
- You won't receive notifications related to flows you are not subscribed to unless someone tags you by username.
Notification types
For each notification type, you can choose to be notified when certain events happen.
- User added or removed: When a invitation to join your team is accepted or when a user is removed from your team.
- Language added or removed: When a language is added to or removed from your organization.
- New comments in thread: When a comment is added to a flow you are subscribed to.
- Tagged in comment thread: When a comment is added to a flow and it tags you by username.
Notification channels
There are three places you can receive notifications.
- In-app feed: The notifications feed displayed within Mavenoid. This channel cannot be disabled; all notifications you have activated will show up in the feed.
- Browser: When this channel is active for a notification type, you will receive a push notification in your browser for those notifications.
- Email: When this channel is active for a notification type, you will receive an email for those notifications.
In-app notifications feed
The bell icon in the Assistant Builder opens your notification feed, showing you all notifications to which you are subscribed.
You can filter notifications by:
- Unread: Notifications you have not yet read.
- Comments: Notifications from comments, rather than other events such as users or languages being added or removed.
- Settings changes: Notifications from users or languages being added or removed, rather than other events such as comments.
To clear the blue dot from all notifications, click "Mark all as read" at the top of the feed.
Browser push notifications
Browser notifications will appear as a default operating system notification coming from whichever browser you're currently using. If the browser is open and notifications are enabled on your machine, you'll receive Mavenoid notifications even if you don't have an open Mavenoid tab.
Email notifications
Email notifications will be sent to the email address you used to create your Mavenoid account. When you receive a notification, click "View in Mavenoid" to directly access where the change was made, such as where your colleague tagged you in a comment.
Subscribe to a flow
Flow subscription is being rolled out gradually. If this option is not yet available to you, it will be soon.
To receive notifications for a specific flow, open the flow's menu and select "Subscribe to flow". If you're already subscribed, you can select "Unsubscribe from flow" in the same menu.
When subscribed to a flow, you'll receive notifications when comments are added by colleagues, as configured in your settings.
Tag a user
To alert a colleague to something in a flow that requires their review or attention, add a comment and use @username
to tag them.
They will receive a notification as configured in their settings.
